PYT Devising

Our performance course for creating new work for 15 - 18 year olds.

PYT Devising offers students the opportunity to form a student-led, ensemble based theatre company that creates and performs original work. Participants will be introduced to the theatre making approaches of professional theatre companies such as Frantic Assembly, Gecko, Complicite, DV8 etc. The ensemble will use these techniques to explore and develop ideas, establish an artistic intention for the company and ultimately create a piece of work that expresses their unique voice. This course provides creative opportunities for a wide variety of young theatre makers including performers, dancers, musicians, writers and designers. All are welcome.

This course culminates in a performance of a full piece in June, with the possibility of entering into a LAMDA exam for Devising Drama, as well as being submitted for inclusion in a theatre festival.
