Prague Youth Theatre, established in 2011, is designed to give young people the chance to perform in full-scale productions, and provides an opportunity for students to develop a shared sense of confidence, commitment and self-expression.
Our weekly courses
PYT Tots offers weekly theatre classes for 3–5 year olds. Classes are designed to introduce young children to the performing arts. Children perform for friends and family in a professional theatre at the end of each term.
PYT Juniors offers weekly theatre classes for 6–11 year olds. Throughout the year students learn theatre techniques, rehearse and perform one act plays and musicals and take part in professional workshops once a term.
PYT Seniors offers students aged 12–14 the opportunity to rehearse and perform plays and devise, write and produce original work. Students also take part in professional workshops and theatre competitions.
What people say
From our experience and association with PYT, we have found it to be a young, exciting and dynamic youth theatre
Plays like this, performed by actors who have passion and believability is rare. For young actors to convince in a production of this level which draws in the audience and holds their attention is even more unique.
Adam, and the numerous workshop leaders we've had, have taught me how to better my acting skills for future productions and have helped me decide to go into acting professionally.
At PYT we get the chance to devise and direct scenes, so the performance often becomes a collaborative piece. PYT has really helped me develop my confidence and acting skills. It's also lots of fun and the people I get to work with are great.
PYT has given me confidence in terms of being on stage and public speaking, and I enjoy cooperating on plays with other kids from different backgrounds.
PYT has given me more confidence to be on stage and perform in front of an audience. It's really fun to act out different roles in plays and I learn so much.
