On moving into a new home, our protagonist finds a strange humanoid creature in the rickety old garage and decides to care for the fragile being. With a seriously ill baby in the house, the parents don't seem to notice their elder child's unusual new friend, but kindness is repaid in turn and he could be just the help they need.
